Thank your lucky stars

I love starting my weekends off with my usual early morning bike ride, and this morning was no different. Halfway into the the ride though, a car never saw me as I was riding through a roundabout and would’ve completely cleaned me up if I hadn’t of reacted in time. Only a metre away from being a new decal on this car, I didn’t know how to feel. Should I be angry or now too scared to ride a bike? All I could think though was how lucky I was to come out of that unscathed.

Many people though everyday, aren’t so lucky. It was a nice reminder of how important and precious everyday we have is.

So thank your lucky stars you’re alive today and go and make today count!

Stop trying so hard

One of my favourite scriptures is Psalm 46:10 which reads,

‘Be still, and know that I am God’

I love this because as someone who is always ‘busy’, it’s a nice reminder to stop trying so hard and trust that God has it under control.

Making a difference

I did my renewal for First aid and CPR today and I watched my instructor take this class far beyond any I have been to before. He completely owned it and did everything he could to express the passion he has to help people live quality lives.

It was so refreshing to see someone who didn’t necessarily have a glorious job, use their gifts and passion to change people’s lives.

We aren’t all called to run our own business and start the latest craze. However we are all called to fulfil our purpose by using our passion and the gifts we have every day!

Don’t wait for your dreams to come true for you to be satisfied and thriving. You need to learn how to be satisfied and thrive for your dreams to come true.

We can all make a difference.

Efficiency in clarity

If you are driving and the road is covered in fog or if it is pouring down rain, you can hardly see and immediately slow down because of the lack of vision. Once you gain clarity and vision though, you pick up speed and charge on ahead.

The same is true in our own lives. If we don’t know what we are doing and where we are going, it can be difficult to be efficient and effective. We start to slow down and we lose our spark.

Don’t underestimate taking the time to be clear on the decisions you make and the direction you’re heading in.

Your relationship with food

What’s your relationship with food look like? Do you constantly feel you can’t have this or that? My theory is we always end up wanting what we can’t have and in the case of food I believe we have to learn to accept all food. Once we have accepted all food than we can develop a good relationship with it, allowing us to choose what we put in our bodies, rather than being controlled by rules we set for ourselves.

Nothing happens overnight, but there is a journey for each of us to take towards accepting and loving ourselves as who we are. Along that journey food fits in healthily because we are no longer creating rules to achieve an image, rather we start eating with love for ourselves.

Listen to your gut

If you don’t know what to do, listen to your gut. We get caught out all the time having to make decisions without any real obvious answer or clear path. That’s where our gut can guide us. Call it what you may, whether it be the Holy Spirit, the universe, but for augments sake let’s just admit we all get a gut feeling.

Learn to listen to this feeling and let it help you make the path you choose a little clearer.

How you do anything is how you do everything

I’m know for sure we all have quotes we love and often remind ourselves of. For me it is the following,

“how you do anything is how you do everything”

This is one of the quotes I often remind myself of, especially when I’m doing things that are seem less significant.

Whatever quote that you live by is, let it ring true in your life. Continue to feed yourself with content that will always bring out your personal best.
