Day 4 – Starting the Camino de Santiago

What a day today was. I don’t know where to start or how to describe the experience I had today. As amazing as the pictures are, they will never do it justice.

We rode 100kms in 7 hours and we are totally spent and have to do it all again tomorrow. The toughest part of today though was climbing a massive mountain with a bike full of luggage, in the blistering heat and that was after we had already ridden 70kms. It was great though because it really set up a massive mental challenge, which felt great to overcome!

What I can’t believe is how many people walk and ride the Camino each day, all on their own journey. It’s so wonderful though because there is a unique comradery that the pilgrims share.

I’m certainly looking forward to the days ahead and the experiences to be had.
